Understanding God's Wrath and the Path to Redemption

Why Is the World Under God's Wrath?

The message today speaks directly to a universal truth rooted in the Word of God: the world is under God’s wrath because of sin. To those willing to listen, the Spirit is revealing why humanity finds itself in this state and how God, in His infinite mercy, provides a path to salvation.

From the beginning, sin has been at the core of humanity's separation from God. In Genesis 2:17, God gave Adam and Eve a clear command: “You shall not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you do, you will certainly die.” However, they disobeyed and, in doing so, sinned against God. This act of rebellion introduced spiritual death—a separation from God—even though their bodies remained alive. Sin, like a rotten fruit, renders humanity unworthy and unusable in its natural state.

But what seems impossible for man—restoring the “rotten fruit”—is possible with God. His power and mercy can transform the sinful into the righteous. We see this demonstrated throughout Scripture.

In Genesis 6:9, Noah is described as the only righteous man in his generation. While the earth was judged and destroyed through the flood because of sin, God spared Noah and his family because of their righteousness. Similarly, in Genesis 19:1-22, God rescued Lot and his family from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. These stories illustrate that, while God’s judgment falls on sin, He always provides a way of escape for the righteous.

God’s word remains unchanging. Just as He hated sin in the days of Noah and Lot, He still hates sin today. We are all born with a sinful nature, and without intervention, we are destined for destruction. Yet, God’s mercy provides a solution. Just as He provided a way for Noah and Lot to escape His judgment, He offers salvation to all through Jesus Christ.

The Way of Escape

To escape the wrath of God and find redemption, we must turn to Jesus. Romans 3:23 reminds us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” But through Jesus, we can be made righteous. This requires acknowledging our sin, asking Jesus for forgiveness, and surrendering our lives to Him as Lord and Savior.

Revelation 3:20 speaks to this invitation: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” God is calling each of us to open our hearts, accept His grace, and walk in righteousness.

A Call to Action

Today, God is asking you to let Him into your life. Accept His gift of salvation, and you, too, can escape the judgment to come. His mercy is available to all who seek Him with a sincere heart. Just as Noah and Lot were saved in their time, you can be saved in yours. Embrace Jesus as your Savior, and experience the transformative power of God’s love.

The choice is yours: will you open the door and let Him in?
